Dealer Licensing

Dealer Licensing Support For Wholesale And Retail

Most people who want to start a dealership do not get stopped by the paperwork itself. They get stopped by not knowing what the paperwork needs — starting with a business location that actually qualifies. That is the gap we fill.

Clear Boundaries

What We Do — And What We Don't

We are a private business, not a government agency and not a law firm. Being clear about that is not a disclaimer we hide at the bottom of the page — it is how you know what you are buying.

We provide the physical dealer location, we prepare and organize documents, we coordinate filings, and we explain the process in language that makes sense. The licensing decision itself belongs to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) Review Examiner — always.

We Do

  • Provide a physical dealer office, parking, and business address
  • Supply the location documentation your application needs from us
  • Prepare, organize, and coordinate application paperwork
  • Assist with business formation and LLC documentation
  • Explain the steps and stay reachable while you go through them

We Don't

  • Issue, approve, or guarantee any license or permit
  • Represent any government agency or act on its behalf
  • Provide legal advice, legal counsel, or legal representation
  • Promise a processing timeline we do not control

Two Paths

Wholesale Or Retail?

The short version: wholesale sells to other licensed dealers, retail sells to the public. Which one you choose changes your requirements, your costs, and what kind of space you need.

Space Available Now

Wholesale Dealer

You buy and sell with other licensed dealers and at dealer auctions. No showroom, no walk-in customers, no retail lot to maintain — which is why it is the most common starting point.

  • Sell to licensed dealers and buy at dealer auctions
  • Designated dealer office and parking available at our facility
  • Lower barrier to entry than a full retail operation

Limited Space

Retail Dealer

You sell directly to the public. The requirements are heavier and the space requirements are different — and we only have a small number of retail locations, which may already be occupied.

  • Sell to the general public
  • Only a small number of retail spaces at our facility
  • Waitlist available when spaces are full

Step By Step

How The Process Works

01

Tell Us What You Want To Build

We start with a conversation, not a contract. Wholesale, retail, or undecided — we tell you what each path involves and whether space exists.

02

Secure Your Dealer Location

You sign the agreement and your designated office and parking are assigned to your company.

03

Complete Business & Licensing Setup

Form your business entity and assemble your application — on your own, or with our setup assistance.

04

Complete The Licensing Process

Review timing and approval belong to the DOT Review Examiner.

05

Operate Your Dealership

Your location and services stay in place while you run the business, with us handling what happens on site.

Requirements vary depending on the applicant, the dealership type, and applicable regulations. We do not guarantee approval or any specific processing time.

The Hard Part

The Location Is Where Most People Get Stuck

A dealership needs a business location — and a home address, a mailbox service, or a spare bedroom generally will not satisfy that. Finding commercial space that works, on your own, in a state you may not live in, is the part that stops most people before they start.

We already own and operate the facility. The offices are there, the parking is there, and the space is set up for dealership use. That is the piece you are not building from scratch.

Common Questions

Dealer Licensing Questions

Can I start a dealership if I live outside Wisconsin?+

Yes — we work with clients across the United States who establish their dealership using our Wisconsin dealer location. Requirements vary by applicant and dealership type, so tell us where you live and what you want to build and we will walk through your specific situation.

What's the difference between wholesale and retail dealer licensing?+

Wholesale lets you buy and sell with other licensed dealers and at dealer auctions. Retail lets you sell to the general public. Retail carries heavier requirements, and our retail spaces are limited.

Do you provide the dealer office space?+

Yes. That is our core service — a designated dealer office or cubicle at our commercial facility in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, with designated parking, a business address, and mail handling. See the dealer office page.

Can you help form my business and prepare the paperwork?+

We can assist with business formation, LLC documentation, dealer application preparation, document organization, and filing coordination. It is optional — plenty of clients handle their own filings and just rent the location. See business setup.

What happens if retail space is full?+

You join the retail waitlist. On your first call we tell you exactly where availability stands rather than leaving you guessing, and we stay in touch as the situation changes. Join the retail waitlist.

Do I have to visit Wisconsin?+

Many of our clients have never visited the building. We handle what happens on site. If your situation requires something in person, we will tell you before you pay anything.

Can I speak with a real person?+

Yes. Call (262) 613-7742 Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Central Time. Bob Malasuk, our Vice President, handles client communication himself.
